Today, I booked Joe Hewitt’s flight, meaning the flights for all the funconf speakers (so far…!) are now booked. It’s game on. Woohoo!
It’s been really overwhelming to hear the enthusiasm of the speakers for funconf. It makes me feel really good about creating not just another conference, or tech event, or whatever, but something that people will really feel a part of. Something personal.
What compelled these awesome people to join the lineup? No idea, but here’s some choice quotes from the last month or so:
When we contacted Marshall, for example, he said:
“I don’t usually travel internationally but that sounds like an opportunity not to miss.”
I flew over to Portland to book his flights with him a few weeks later!
Michael Lopp, one of my all time favourite bloggers, was just as inspiring:
“Really excited about this event — really like the unique approach you’re taking. Also, I love the color orange.”
Joe Hewitt is equally as pepped:
“I couldn’t be more excited about this trip and getting to speak to a bus full of Irish folk.”
Even Amy Hoy, who gets travel sickness, had this to say:
“i have to say, i haven’t been this psyched about a conf for some time”
The Oatmeal puts it well:
“I’ve never heard of a conference on a bus before, sounds insane..haha”
Mostly, I’m looking forward to the stories that will come out of enthusiasm like this, months in advance.
I think it’s going to be good. If you want to join us, there are still a few early bird tickets available.
